Keeping it simple
21 February 2008Well thanks for taking the time to check out my new blog site… This is still very much under construction but I hope that as it grows it will be a great source of encouragment to all those on the journey into organic church.
I have just come back from a great trip to South Africa, I had the great privalage of meeting with Floyd Mcclung who is pioneering a project called cpx in Cape Town. The idea of the project is to help people learn more about how to start a ’simple’ church and grow missional networks. I also had some great contact with people in the Hillcrest area of Durban, there is a growing network of people in the Natal area who are passionate to see a new missional organic form of church network develop. As a result of these meetings we have arranged the first ever Pioneer Academy in South Africa. It will be held in Waterfall Community Church in the Hillcrest area of Durban…it will be on the 1st and 2nd weekends of August…. more details to follow!

Hello,
We are on the same journey as Dave. The key element for me is to focus on the principles of the Kingdom and organic church. As long as we stay focused there I believe we will keep it organic. The moment we begin to look at “how to’s” we fall into hearing God for other people. I believe one of the key points for organic church is to equip people to hear God in their lives. I read this recently,”Perhaps the church is neither emerging nor re-structuring so much as re-claiming its true nature as an underground, insurgent movement.” I would love to get together with anyone in the Durban,SA area to chat. Anyone listening to Dave can meet me for inner healing if needed. Will write again soon Dave.
